How the Youth Police Academy Works

  • Currently the program is one week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Lunches are provided at no additional cost.
  • Parents are required to attend a meeting with the Academy Staff, where the program is discussed in detail.
  • The academy is conducted during a week in June, normally the week after school is completed in the Christina School District in Delaware.
  • The child must be between the ages of 12 and 16.
  • The parent must register the child in the program by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • The registration requirements must be met, including the payment of all fees and the completion of all required forms.
  • Your child will receive numerous supplies, including a uniform shirt and hat.
