About the trail
In 2012, a local young man created this trail for his Eagle Scout project. His project has been officially recognized by the Boy Scouts of America. A
trail patch is available to Boy Scouts who complete the trail, but it is also a great for anyone to see Newark if you are in the area.
The intention of this trail is to give you, the hiker, a small taste of what can be seen and experienced in the wonderful city of Newark, Delaware and expose you to some of its varied beauty and history. The trail is 9 miles in length (can be expanded to 10 miles) and includes stops at sites such as the oldest paper mill in America and the University of Delaware.
