Due to the snow accumulation predicted by the National Weather Service and for the safety of staff, City of Newark offices will be closing at noon on Wednesday, December 16. The Municipal Building and Parking Office will be closed for drop-offs and staff will be unavailable by phone.
City crews are prepared to perform snow removal on residential streets as well as from paved trails once the snow ends. To assist crews in effectively removing snow from streets, residents should park their cars in their driveway, if possible. If a snow emergency is declared by the City Manager, please observe parking bans on designated snow emergency routes.
Information on the Snow and Ice Control Plan, Snow Plow Routes, Snow Emergency Routes, the most current National Weather Service Forecasts, and general winter storm information can be found at www.newarkde.gov/snow.
Re-opening plans are dependent upon the effects of the storm. Updates will be posted to TV22 and the City's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Residents are encouraged to sign up for InformMe notifications to receive updates via text, email and phone.
