In an hour, Newark staff with a truck was out and picked up the branches. They were also very polite. Thanks for great city service and helpful employees.

Instead of having the prizes for the police trading cards be for the first 8 kids who collect them, why not have any kid who collects all the cards within a certain time frame (say, by the time all 86 have been a card of the day at least once) be entered into a raffle for the 8 prizes? That might reduce the tendency for parents to spend hours stalking police shift changes and parents/kids taking handfuls of cards from the office, neither of which is exactly a good example or the type of behavior the card collecting should be promoting. It might be too late for this year, but if there's a next time it could work!

I was very disappointed to hear that the Newark New Century Club is being torn down to make space for more apartment complexes. I would like to see a new building become a center for public community events open to both students or community members. These events could be hosted by community members/organizations such as Lifepath, or on-campus but not UD affiliated groups such as DTE and CAMP.
