Every day I watch my fellow students blindly walk in front of cars to get across the intersection of Delaware and College Aves, and the traffic is always backed up as a result. Every day I also have to sit or stand on a bus, 100ft from the intersection, that can't turn right from Delaware to College for a solid 5+ minutes because they don't have a chance to turn due to the students crossing College Ave.
Suggestion: adjust the light timing to allow "pedestrians only" followed by "vehicles only" during peak class times. This way traffic won't get backed up in the right lane of Del Ave and the UD shuttles will actually get a chance to make a timely right turn without dodging pedestrians. Basically, right now the pedestrians are dominating the intersection, so treat it like there's a traffic officer there.

my "great idea" would be the addition of a sidewalk on Welsh Tract Road from 896 (where there are brand new, first-time pedestrian crossing lights and sidewalk ramps) to Folk Memorial Park. The many residents of the Villa Belmont Condominiums have never been able to safely walk to the restaurants and stores on 896 or to Folk Park. in their own back yard...as there is also no shoulder on this very busy road, the only alternative for pedestrians is to walk in the street and dodge the frequently speeding traffic on Welsh Tract Road.
This is not a new idea, residents of Villa Belmont have been asking for this for years...with no luck from the City of Newark or Deldot.

There is no indication if one is a left turning lane, a right turning lane, or straight through. I would like to suggest marking the roads with arrows in paint, and a sign indicating traffic flow!

There needs to be a traffic light at Papermill Road and Fox Den. In the 8 years I have lived in Newark I have had several close calls with drivers coming off Fox Den onto Papermill. On August 18th I was driving home at 5pm when a driver pulled out in front of me. Fortunately there were no injuries....this time. I do believe that a traffic light would have prevented this accident. There is far too much traffic on both PaperMill Rd and Fox Den to ignore this. Many people use Fox Den to cut over and save time from Polly Drummond Rd onto Papermill Rd. It is a matter of time before someone else is seriously hurt or killed there.

I am interested in seeing if we can start a rain barrel program. Rain barrels help with stormwater runoff, flooding, gardening, washing your vehicle, lawn care, etc. Another benefit to storing rain water will help residents care for their yard in the event their is a water shortage. i have recently moved into the area, so I am unsure of how the water is rationed in this type of situation. However, rain barrels can be quite pricey, especially if the resident is needing multiple. I would like to initiate a program that recycles old barrels or other large barrel like containers into working rain barrels.

I'd just like a convienant way to track our Home's energy use. Since this info captured by the Smart Meter why can't I easily access it? I know that I can get this info from the website, but it's not convienant and therefore I don't use this data. Ideally we could have something that's simple and quick to use with no required passwords once you're signed in. Please let me know if there are any 3rd party apps that are compatible with our Newark Smart Meters
