The City of Newark relies on an engaged citizenry to assist with many aspects of governing our City, guiding decision making processes and providing avenues for appeals of decisions, through a system of boards and commissions that are appointed by the Mayor and City Council.

Board of Building, Fire, Property Maintenance and Sidewalk Appeals
  • At-Large alternate – Four year term (Subsequent terms will be for five years)
Board of Ethics
  • At-Large - Five year term to expire February 15, 2025
  • District 1 - Four year term to expire February 15, 2024 (Subsequent terms will be for five years)
  • District 2 - Three year term to expire February 15, 2023 (Subsequent terms will be for five years)
  • District 3 - Two year term to expire February 15, 2022 (Subsequent terms will be for five years)
  • District 4 - One year term to expire February 15, 2021 (Subsequent terms will be for five years)
  • District 5 - Five year term to expire February 15, 2025
  • District 6 - Four year term to expire February 15, 2024 (Subsequent terms will be for five years)
