    1. City of Newark, DELAWARE Residential Zone Parking Permit Application

      The Residential Parking Program allows individuals, residing at an eligible property, to obtain on-street parking within their parking zone. Eligibility is determined at the time of application review. Not all properties or individuals, located along a Residential Parking Zone, will qualify for permits. 

      Eligible rental properties are limited to 1-2 parking permits (depending on property). We can not go beyond the permit max. Applications submitted after this has been reached will be denied.

      Additional permits are not for sale. If your application is denied-- we can not issue you or your vehicle a permit -- no exceptions.

    2. OUTSTANDING FINES

      If you have OUTSTANDING FINES that are 30 days or older on the vehicle you are registering, the Parking Division will be unable to issue a permit until till these citations are addressed.

      To check your vehicle and make payment:

      Please go to Newark Parking Tickets and enter your vehicle's plate information (do not enter both a citation or plate -- this will result in an error).

    23. ** PLEASE READ OR YOUR APPLICATION MAY BE DENIED** 

      A legally binding lease is one that is completed, signed, not expired, and establishes you are a CURENT tenant at an address. Blank or expired leases are not accepted.

      Upload a legally binding lease OR  pages from that lease that contain ALL of the following:

      1. CITY OF NEWARK ADDRESS
      2. TENANT NAMES
      3. TERM DATES (START/END DATES  -- NO EXPIRED LEASES You must have proof you are a current tenant).
      4. SIGNATURE PAGE OF THE LEASE (SIGNATURES FROM BOTH TENANTS AND LANDLORD).

      Addendums and Sublet Agreements are accepted BUT must include the above information.

      Any missing information or blank leases will result in denial of your application! 

      IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE LEASE: 
      We cannot issue you or your vehicle a permit.

      BOARDERS WITHOUT A LEASE: 
      Please attach a letter from the homeowner with the above information.

    24. REQUIRED (THE APPLICANT LIVING AT THE ADDRESS -- NOT THE VEHCILE OWNER)

      Please do not confuse with your vehicle title or insurance card.
    26. If you need an additional upload for a second page of the lease.
    27. This is only needed if the Homeowner's name has not been updated in the parcel search (usually within 30 days of a property sale). Please ignore if you have not recently purchased the property.
