Public Hearings

About Public Hearings

Following the planning and development director's review of a report to the planning commission on an item before the commission, the applicant's presentation, and commission's discussion, the meeting is opened for public comment.

If you wish to speak before the planning commission on any agenda item, please fill out the small white request form at the end of the dais near the door to the meeting room.

Speakers will be called in turn to the microphone and asked to give name and address for the official record. If you have not filled out a request form, you may also speak; just raise your hand after a speaker is finished and the commission chair will recognize you as soon as possible.

Anyone who wishes to speak will be given an opportunity to be heard. The chair, however, may request that repetitive comments be kept brief and to the point.

After Hearings

After the public hearing is completed, the commission will deliberate the item as required and, in the form of a motion, make a recommendation to the city council.

Date of Public Hearings

Please contact the city secretary's office at (302) 366-7000 for the date of the public hearing on the item at city council.
