Public Hearings

About Public Hearings

Following the planning and development director's review of a report to the planning commission on an item before the commission, the applicant's presentation, and commission's discussion, the meeting is opened for public comment.

Individuals who wish to speak before the commission on an agenda item should sign in on the list provided at the entrance of the Council Chamber prior to the start of the meeting.

Individuals who have signed up to speak will be called forward to the podium by the Chair to speak. Thereafter, other members of the public may request to be recognized by the Chair in order to speak. Anyone who wishes to speak will be given an opportunity to be heard. The Chair, however, may request that repetitive comments be kept brief and to the point. While at the podium, speakers should state their name and address for the official record and be sure to speak into the microphone so comments are recorded.

After Hearings

After the public hearing is completed, the commission will deliberate the item as required and, in the form of a motion, make a recommendation to the city council.

Date of Public Hearings

Please contact the city secretary's office at (302) 366-7000 for the date of the public hearing on the item at city council.
