All employees working for the City of Newark are subject to regular performance evaluations. Performance evaluations measure the effectiveness of the work force in meeting established goals and objectives, provide constructive feedback to the employee on job performance, and provide a basis for personnel decisions.
Basis of Promotions & Raises
Promotions and raises are awarded on the basis of evaluations and other relevant criteria. Monitoring and evaluating an employee's performance is a continuous process and many different types of evaluations are used.
