Main Street Safety Improvements

The purpose of this project is to identify and advance a coordinated path forward for implementing short-, medium-, and long-term safety improvements along Main Street improving mobility and safety for all users. The City of Newark and Newark Police Department along with other stakeholders Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, the University of Delaware, and DelDOT have worked with our transportation consultant to plan and implement a list of safety measures outlined in the document below:

Several options were presented to mayor and council, city staff, and members of the public at the June 16th council meeting. The approved safety measures are linked below:
